Linzie Hunter's Spam Project

I found this illustration project from British illustrator Linzie Hunter via Domestic Sluttery, a fun design/lifestyle blog that I recently and happily discovered. The Spam Project turns the always interesting subject lines of spam into lovely works of postcard art. In fact, all of her art is amazing...check out The Atomic Alphabet. Anyone who loves lettering and typography will fall in love with her work.

Here is one of my favorite postcards from the Spam Project:

Beautiful Typography

Misprinted Type is one of the most beautiful sites I've come across in a while. I've looked at it every day and not only because I wish I could hang it on my wall, but because of the content as well. Eduardo Recife began this site in 1998 as a place to show his type, and gradually added drawings and images as well. I wish I would have found this earlier...It's really amazing. Check it out.

Ghost Blog

My poor neglected blog, it's like one of those old houses in a ghost town that still has food on the table but is covered with several inches of dust. This new year, that's already almost half-way finished, has been insane.

I'm reminding myself now, though, that if I don't keep my personal, non-work-but-still-career-related projects fresh and new, I'll end up turning into something petrified and dusty, too. While I focus on turning the non-survival part of my brain back on, here's all I have for now - the good part of 2009 so far. We moved to a place that actually has a view, which my cats in particular enjoy. I love seeing kitties in the window:
